Ah well there you have the new IPhone and Apple watch companion to throw your money at for this year. It’s no surprised that Apple announces a new I device(s) every year to keep consumers happy and introduce innovations. The IPhone 6 isn't really the cake of this year announcement since almost everyone was expecting it. But the Apple Watch an entry to the smart watches market is certainly getting some buzz. Set to release worldwide the IPhone 6 hit stores on September 19, 2014.
Here what’s to expect Introducing two new models The IPhone 6 and IPhone 6 Plus, with a couple of new improvements, features, and hardware upgrade. Packing a new A8 chip set guaranteed 25% faster than last year IPhone 5s A7. A bigger retina screen for HD viewing the IPhone 6 packing a 4.7 inch screen with a resolution of 1334X750 and the IPhone 6 plus with 5.5 inch at 1920X1080 a resolution higher than your modern gaming consoles, hmm… gets you wondering where mobile gaming will be headed with this.
The IPhone 6 will also be sporting a thinner design compared to its predecessor. The IPhone 6 coming at a 6.9mm thickness making it the slimmest smartphone on the market. While the IPhone 6 Plus will be 7.1mm thick, yet both still thinner that the IPhone 5S which was 7.6mm thick. Weighting slightly heavier than the IPhone 5s which was 112 grams, the IPhone 6 will be 129 grams, and IPhone 6 plus 172 grams. Build with a metal body finish available in three colors: gold, silver, and space grey.
Packing an 8 megapixel camera rear ISight camera and a 1.2 mega pixel front facing camera might sound the same as the IPhone 5s camera. But it’s actually not the IPhone 6 introduces a wider lens allowing for 1080P HD video recording at 30 to 60 FPS with improved auto focus for better and high quality images. Coming bundled with the new IOS8 furthering improving on how images/video is processed on IPhone 6 and a slew of new features/improvements.
Apple also announces their new partnership with Visa, MasterCard, and American express. With that comes forth the new gimmick known as Apple Pay with is essentially a chip build into the IPhone 6 which allows you make credit card transaction simply using your phone. Indeed curious to see how Apple take on this type of technology will play out in the weeks to come when IPhone 6 launches next week.
So what does it actually take to get your hands on a new IPhone? Well starting at 16 GB with a contract the IPhone 6 will cost $199, 64GB at $299, and a 128GB at $399. The IPhone 6 Plus at a plus $100 price difference with contract for example a 16GB IPhone 6 Plus is $299 with contract. Likewise the unlocked version cost roughly $649 for unlocked 16GB IPhone 6, 64GB at $749, and 128GB at $849. This year top model an unlocked IPhone 6 plus will be $949. Almost 1K for a phone *gasp* better make sure it’s gold plated. Well that covers pretty much covers IPhone 6 and IPhone 6 Plus.
As for the Apple Watch we’re going have to wait till early 2015 in order to get our hands on it. Being marketed as “Apple’s most personal device ever” the Apple Watch will be available in three editions: Apple Watch , Apple Watch Sport and Apple Watch Edition in 38mm and 42 mm sizes. Build with stainless steel available in black, space grey, silver anodized aluminum, and 18-karat rose or yellow gold. Using Wi-Fi or Bluetooth 4.0 Apple watch can seamlessly pair with your IPhone device. This watch cost about $349(US).
